A Busy First Day In D.C.!

Before we left the general vicinity of where the bomb scare was we had to get a picture in front of the Supreme Court Building, so we quickly hustled up the steps and a super nice family helped us out by snapping this family photo for us.
Picture of Washington Monument on our walk from Capitol Hill...
As we left Capitol Hill and headed into the National Mall and it's parks the first one we came to was this duck pond with a bunch of statues of soldiers on horseback in battle and a General standing high above the pond looking very strong. They were beautiful to see. This is the view of the Monument with the statues at our backs.
The girls on the other hand were much more interested in the ducks...
Gotta love anything that has to do with the Constitution! Even if it is just a street sign :)
Next we went into this Sculpture Garden...let's just say it was VERY INTERESTING...to say the least...
This is one of the few picture of any of the sculptures that I can publish in good consciousness...like I said most of them were very interesting...but fun none the less.
Quick photo of myself and the girls (at least the ones that were paying attention to Dad & the camera) at the fountain inside the gardens.
Outside the gardens as we walked down the National Mall we came upon this street performer, he was pretty awesome. We listened to him for about 15 minutes and the girls jammed out to his rhythm on the "drums"!
Don't you always have to make one quick stop to a tee-shirt vendor? This was ours...as you can see from my stance I was haggling over the price since we were buying a bunch of tees & hats (gotta a pretty good deal too! A trick I learned well from my mother...Thanks Mom!)
A snapshot for our future FBI agent...Morgan :)
Next stop was The Natural History Museum. They have a huge exhibit on Mammals and since I love anything and everything about childbirth, babies & breastfeeding I had to have a shot of this...it was a super cool display that changed colors. LOVE IT!!!
My girls in green enjoying the wonders of the museum...
well except for maybe Macy...
Their such goof balls! I have no idea where they get it from...
